Miami Beach, Florida – The 49th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will see the unveiling of snew models by Bertram Yachts as they change the brand’s image from classic sport fishing to dual-purposes pleasure yachting. The brand is introducing new advances in technology and design, giving Bertram a fresh appeal.
Recognizing that these yachts are not simply for sport-fishing enthusiasts only, but rather are luxuries for those looking to spend more time with their family and friends, Bertram is committed to providing the backdrop for enjoying life while out on the sea.
The Bertram 540
The new Bertram 540 yacht is distinguished as an ultra performing luxury sport-fishing vessel, which incorporates unique elements of design, unlike other Bertram’s before.
This layout also features a galley aft, which creates more space and liveability on board. A first for a Bertram yacht of this category, this galley aft design opens up the whole interior space of this yacht providing a unique living area with extra room between the salon and cockpit.
The most striking new feature is the forward wraparound window that provides breathtaking views of the surrounding waters and allows for an incredible amount of natural light to shine through the interior of the yacht. This feature highlights the yachts profile, which will likely become this yachts signature.
Another impressive asset of the 540, equipped with Twin CAT C-32 1676 hp engines, it can reach top speeds of up to 39 knots. Overall, this is a universal sport-fishing machine that exudes luxury and performance equally.
The Bertram 800
The new Bertram 800 is the largest Bertram model to ever be built in its production stages at the Bertram plant. This impressive vessel is in development for winter 2009.
The 800 is being built to accommodate the desires of the most sophisticated customers for both U.S. and International markets. It will be offered as both an Enclosed and Open version to meet this variety of needs. With the support of the AYT, extensive research was done to improve upon the dynamics of the shaft and strut functions and new advanced window design on this new yacht. AYT – successfully identified how to modify these design struts in order to dissipate cavitation, thereby minimizing maintenance issues, gaining better fuel economy and enhancing engine performance.
The 800 will also feature the exclusive ARG (Anti-rolling Gyro) technology, in which Ferretti has just renewed the exclusive contract with Mitsubishi until 2011.
The luxurious full beam master will offer sweeping views of the open ocean with large porthole windows, which surround the master suite. The 800 features a four cabin layout and will offer multiple layout options for the master staterooms than can be customized upon request.
