Gianfranco Ferré’s famously precise style, the legendary manual deftness of Neapolitan tailors, timeless elegance, and a perfect custom cut all combine in a new service from the design firm: Made to measure from start to finish, all exquisitely by hand.
“The project comes from a need to meet the demands of a customer ever more quality-alert when choosing his wardrobe,” said Ferre CEO Michaela Piva. “In pursuing this ambitious project, we decided to invest even further in the quality of a product already at the height of excellence. Our starting point is clearly the Gianfranco Ferré style. From there the customer gets to add his own input in the definition of hand-tailored suits and hand-crafted shoes.”
Equally extraordinary and unique are the fabrics designed and developed by the Gianfranco Ferré styling office in partnership with leading Italian and British textile manufacturers to service their bespoke customers. Customers may find not only lusciously soft cashmeres and vicunas, but also wonderful faux-handwoven pinstripes, gorgeous prince of wales and herringbones, magnificent houndstooth checks, plus the pinwale corduroys and velvets ideal for fitted cuts.
For men who want the Gianfranco Ferré made-to-measure experience also in accessories, another expert Neapolitan craftsman will flank the tailors with the luxury of handtooled shoes.
The made-to-measure service is available by appointment at Gianfranco Ferré boutiques. All clothes and accessories are made in collaboration with the finest tailors and shoemakers in Naples. Bespoke suits start at about $3,300, coats at $5,000, shoes at $1,200.
