Gleaneagles And The Balmoral Announce Gourmet Scottish Cuisine Package

Gleneagles and The Balmoral, two award-winning properties with cuisine of Michelin excellence, have joined together to offer a package foodies are sure to love. The Taste of Scotland package includes stays at both of these legendary hotels, one in the heart of Edinburgh and the other an hour’s drive away, nestled in lush Scottish countryside.

Begin your stay at The Balmoral in the colorful and historic city of Edinburgh where you can tour castles and other attractions, shop, and enjoy a thriving cultural scene. After a few days, head to Gleneagles, a sprawling 850-acre estate in the Perthshire Hills of Scotland for a variety of leisure activities including golf, tennis, swimming, falconry, driving off-road, and much more.

The five-day Taste of Scotland package includes:

-À la carte dinner at two-Michelin-star Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles (wines not included); this restaurant remains the only two-Michelin-star establishment in Scotland
-A tasting menu at Michelin-rated Number One at The Balmoral (wines not included)
-Full Scottish breakfast daily
-Accommodations for two nights at The Balmoral (with an upgrade to an Executive Room and a bottle of Bollinger on ice upon arrival at the hotel)
-Accommodations for two nights with an upgrade to an Estate Room at Gleneagles
-Whisky tasting for two at Gleneagles

This package is priced from £675 (now through April 30, 2011) and £725 (May 1 – September 30, 2011).
