Flying high
Two-time Oscar nominee John Travolta’s skills as a pilot are well-documented, and he’s flown many famous faces over the years, including Marlon Brando, Barbara Streisand, and Muhammad Ali
But when it came to making his first trip to Dubai recently, Travolta, who stars as Mafia boss John Gotti Sr. in an upcoming biopic, left the flying to others. He jetted to the UAE aboard Qantas, enjoying the luxury of the A380 First Class Suite. Travolta, Qantas’ ambassador-at- large, was joined by his son Benjamin and daughter Ella Bleu. “We rode camels,” Travolta said. “We did falconry and took lots of pictures…. They pretty much liked everything. But the camels and birds were the highlight.”
Brangelina bliss
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their brood touched down in Hong Kong, where they made the Presidential Suite of the InterContinental Hong Kong their home for a few days.
The five-bedroom, 7,000-square-foot sanctuary has almost enough bedrooms for each of the couple’s six children. Here, the couple could enjoy the 2,500-square-foot rooftop terrace with an infinity pool and Jacuzzi, be waited on around-the- clock by a butler, and work out in the private gym. The views of Victoria Harbour and the city skyline from the largest suite in the city may have paled in comparison to the brilliant baubles they picked up at Emperor Watch & Jewellery. Pitt reportedly splurged on an 18K rose gold diamond pendant that represents warmth and a silver bracelet that promotes happiness and safety.
Stompin’ at The Savoy
Before singer Britney Spears began her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, she popped over to London to promote her tunes.
The mother of two stayed at The Savoy, where the Royal Suite occupies the entire fifth floor and includes a butler for those traveling without a staff. Spears caused quite a stir when she lunched at Hakkasan Mayfair and boarded a red double-decker bus that picked her up at The Savoy. No, she didn’t go sightseeing on the bus but rather used it as a place to do interviews instead of the standard hotel suite.
