Combining an elaborate menu that merges “Nuevo Basque” and Mexican cuisine, fine wines and modern décor, Cocina de Autor (Author’s Kitchen in English), is the latest venture from Michelin-Pedigree Executive Chefs Bruno Oteiza and Mikel Alonso. The duo’s Basque background and culinary expertise along with their training under famed three-Michelin-Star Chef Juan Mari Arzak promises to establish the restaurant as the next Riviera Maya culinary hot spot.
The restaurant’s a la carte menu includes a tasting menu and a variety of dishes from Tuna Wrapped in a Rice Skin with Anise and Rib Eye Steak served with Black Corn and Mushrooms to Piquillo Peppers with Duck and Tamarind and Grouper in a White Mole Sauce. Desserts include Apples with Saffron Sauce, Coconut Soup with Fruit Bread, Coco Crunch with Orange Tree Aroma and more.
