Grand Velas Resorts in Riviera Maya and Riviera Nayarit are tempting travelers with two new culinary-themed packages that feature international cuisine and wine pairings, cooking classes and contests for the whole family, food tours, mixology lessons and more.

At Grand Velas Riviera Maya, the “Art of Cooking” package includes executive chef-led cooking classes—including a session on preparing a three-course meal complete with a diploma for participation—a wine tasting and even a take-home chef’s jacket. Kids can get in on the fun with junior cooking classes, an awards ceremony and a take-home kit. Offered through December 19th, rates start at $329 a night.

At Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, the “Gourmet” package grants access to wine and tequila tastings, cooking and cocktail classes and exclusive food and wine tours at local gourmet eateries. Guests also enjoy a gourmet amenity on arrival, a special Spa Cuisine lunch at the onsite Azul restaurant and one dinner each at Frida, Lucca and Piaf, the resort’s Four Diamond award-winning restaurants, as well as spa and golf discounts. Available until December 18th and from April 16th through December 19th, 2012, rates start at $359 a night.
