Grey Goose Introduces the $10,000 Martini at the Algonquin Hotel

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

New York, New York – The Algonquin Hotel, a landmark in midtown Manhattan, quite possibly serves the most expensive martini ever—Grey Goose’s $10,000 Martini—a cocktail that comes with a one-of-a-kind diamond engagement ring placed in the glass. The program was first established in 2005, with the first martini being served that year, but the hotel just recently partnered with Grey Goose to make it as luxurious an affair as possible.

The Algonquin Hotel personalizes the experience leading up to the proposal by allowing customers to choose everything from carat size to how many stones they are looking to use, by working directly with a private jeweler to create each piece. Requests must be made 72 hours in advance, and customers must be available to come in and choose the specifics of the ring and stones. Once the ring has been selected and crafted, the engagement martini is ceremoniously served in a crystal martini glass on a silver platter by a white-gloved waiter in the Blue Bar.
