New York, New York – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
Just in time for Mother’s Day, Gucci has unveiled the limited edition Mamma bag, designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini as part of the label’s ongoing partnership with UNICEF, now in its sixth year.
Available exclusively online, a quarter of the proceeds from the sales of each bag will go directly to UNICEF’s HIV/AIDS programs, which provide HIV test kits to expectant mothers with the goal of eliminating infections in newborns. Gucci has guaranteed a minimum donation of $70,000 to the organization.
“My inspiration for this special edition bag came from my trip to Malawi with UNICEF in November 2009, when I witnessed first hand the AIDS epidemic that affects entire generations of families,” said Giannini. “As part of our continued efforts with UNICEF to improve these circumstances, the Mamma bag allows all those who would like to help make a difference in the lives of these families to contribute a gift that will have double meaning on Mother’s Day.”
Designed for modern mothers-on-the-go, the Mamma bag features a front-zip pocket and two open side pockets for extra storage, as well as the house’s signature green-red-green web and a touch of luxe leather trim. Celeb moms like Salma Hayek have already gotten their hands on the chic tote.
The Mamma bag retails for $970 will retail at Gucci.com through June 15th.
