Cortaillod — Gucci Timepieces has announced the worldwide launch of their new “Timeless” ad campaign, which will appear in fashion and lifestyle media starting this month and run throughout 2010.
The first treatments from the new campaign, which was conceived by Creative Director Frida Giannini, draw on two different images from the Gucci photo archives: One features Russian model Veruschka, while the other depicts British actor Peter Sellers—each of them a ’60s style icon in their own right. Looking just as fresh and fashion-forward now as when they were first captured, the timeless nature of these images spotlights Gucci’s unfailing ability to turn out classic pieces. The new ads provide the perfect backdrop for showcasing three products from the latest Gucci Timepiece collection.
As Giannini says, “The images featured in this campaign are some of my favorites from the Gucci archive. They perfectly illustrate not only the glamour of Gucci’s past and the many style icons who were naturally drawn to the House, but also show how this heritage can be relevant today. It’s the perfect backdrop for the latest collection of Gucci timepieces.”
The three timepieces displayed in the ads are the stylish women’s G-Gucci, the I-Gucci models and the new Gucci Classic Chronograph. Each timepiece marries Swiss watch-making savoir-faire with the quintessential Italian styling that has made Gucci the last word in luxury for nine decades.
