Joseph T. Lombardo, executive vice president, Aerospace, General Dynamics, and president, Gulfstream Aerospace, has been elected to the board of directors of Corporate Angel Network.
“Corporate Angel Network is delighted to welcome Joe Lombardo to membership on its Board; and for his commitment and guidance as we move forward in CAN’s mission to provide timely, comfortable, and free transportation to cancer patients as they pursue treatment,” said Randall Greene, Chairman of Corporate Angel Network.
“Gulfstream Aerospace, and its parent company General Dynamics, have been strong participants in Corporate Angel Network for more than 27 of CAN’s 28 years, by flying patients on their aircraft during company business missions. In addition, Gulfstream has embraced CAN’s message by promoting CAN’s mission and the role that business jet transportation can provide in reaching the best cancer treatment facilities for individual patient needs in a low-stress, convenient, and comfortable travel environment.”
“It is an honor to participate in this worthwhile organization, which does such meaningful work on behalf of cancer patients,” Lombardo said. “Corporate Angel Network is an excellent example of how business aircraft owners contribute to the communities where they live and work. These trips help cancer patients get much-needed medical care and relieve some of the burden patients face when seeking treatment.”
Corporate Angel, in operation since 1981, arranges free transportation to treatment for cancer patients using empty seats of corporate aircraft. It arranges for more than 200 patient flights to treatment every month.
