InterContinental Boston Offers Quintessential Luxe Packages

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Boston, Massachusetts – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

This November 2011 marks InterContinental Boston’s 5 year anniversary and in the same month has also been voted by Condé Nast Traveler’s 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards among the “Best [Hotels] in the World.” This chic AAA Four Diamond property is offering two ‘Quintessential Packages’ celebrating its five year milestone – the Quintessential Celebration Package at $555/night and the exclusive Quintessential Luxury Package at $5,555/night that includes accommodations in InterContinental Boston’s luxurious Presidential Suite overlooking Boston’s waterfront, a five-course in suite champagne dinner along with a live quintet playing during the cocktail reception and dinner. Both packages are valid from November 1, 2011 – April 30, 2012 (subject to availability and blackout dates).

A glistening landmark, the 424-room InterContinental Boston opened in November 2006 as the first InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property in Boston and New England. With its tall, elegant, reflective blue glass architecture and sleek polished granite the hotel was designed in a modern interpretation of the tall ships that came to Boston centuries ago. The building’s ‘wings’ represent the height of the masts, about as far apart as ships at dock, and its curved façades represent sails, reflecting in a modern way the sense of wind within the sails.

The InterContinental Boston is situated on Boston’s historic and evolving waterfront known as the Fort Point Channel and the Seaport District, one of Boston’s hottest new areas also known as “New Boston,” and on the site where the Boston Tea Party took place in 1773. It is an ideal location from which to easily explore the newest additions to this area of Boston.  Within the past five years, 14 new restaurants and bars along with new retail establishments, commercial and cultural institutions have opened in the Fort Point Channel/Seaport District all within one mile of the hotel. The world-renown Institute of Contemporary Art also opened in 2006 and the Boston Children’s Museum, located across the channel, went through a $47 million renovation and addition in 2007. The new Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, which is currently under construction, is slated to open in summer 2012 adjacent to the hotel. The InterContinental Boston is also one of the closest downtown luxury hotels to Logan International Airport and is also accessible via water taxi directly to/from the airport from the hotel’s private dock.

To celebrate its five year milestone, InterContinental Boston is offering two ‘Quintessential Packages’ valid through April 30, 2012. The Quintessential Celebration Package at $555/night includes suite accommodations along with a three-course prix fixe wine pairing dinner in the AAA Four Diamond Miel “Brasserie Provençale” restaurant. The ultra-exclusive Quintessential Luxury Package at $5,555/night includes overnight accommodations in the 3,300 sq. ft. two-bedroom Presidential Suite in which Hollywood celebrities, world-renown musicians and international dignitaries have slept, plus a five-course prix fixe champagne dinner for six in the suite’s dining room with a live quintet playing during the cocktail reception and dinner. It also includes two 50-minute treatments in the hotel’s 6,600 sq. ft. SPA InterContinental and a late check-out of 5 p.m.
