By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Acapulco, Mexico — During the Tianguis trade fair for tourism here, top officials from Ixtapa Zihuatanjeo announced they would expand their promotion of offering “Unlimited” experiences to visitors.

At a press conference attended by Elite Traveler, Alberto Fernandez Cabrera, Director of Tourism and CVB President Higinio M. De Leon de Witt announced “Unlimited Fun 4 Kids” will launch from July 13 to August 17.

For children and families there will be beach activities including contests, games and competitions with prizes, an ongoing tradition Mexican “feria” with games, contests, art expositions, movies and hand made craft sessions. Additional activities for children will include puppet shows, parades, story telling, singers, music shows, clown shows and magic shows. For athletically minded children there will also be golf and tennis lessons, swimming with dolphins, surf lessons and snorkeling.

The Unlimited campaign started last year with an Unlimited Fun, Enchanting NIghts promotion that included 78 days of shows, 1,100 singers, 2,900 dance shows and over 6,000 pieces of art as part of an exhibit.

In the plans for later this year is Unlimited Cuisine, including visiting celebrity chefs, a Mexican cooking academy, various classes available at local hotels and restaurants and different themes in an attempt to position Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo as “the culinary center of Mexico.”
