Jaguar Cars is celebrating its 50th year anniversary at the Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend with a series of memorable heritage events, featuring an array of significant vehicles representing the past, present and future of the brand. A major highlight of the weekend will be Jaguar’s C-X75 hybrid supercar on display at the Pebble Concours Concept Lawn on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be opportunities to test drive Jaguar’s current model year line up throughout the weekend.
The weekend culminates on Sunday, at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, where one Jaguar will receive a specially designed trophy by Ian Callum, Jaguar Design Director.
“Jaguar Cars has kept its momentum this year with the celebration of 50 years of E-Type and the launch of the new 12MY Jaguar lineup, which includes the XKR-S, a 550 hp machine with impressive driving dynamics,” said David Pryor, Brand Vice President, Jaguar North America,. “The Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend is one of the most celebrated gatherings of automotive aficionados from around the world and Jaguar will have a major presence there.”
Jaguar’s 2012 XF, XK and XJ models, including the all-new XKR-S will be available for consumer test drives at three events throughout the weekend: Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, The Quail Motorsports Gathering, and on Peter Hay Hill at The Lodge on Pebble Beach.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion
Friday, August 19 – Sunday, August 21
For a third time, Jaguar is the featured marque at this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion – the brand was a featured marque in 1976 and 1992. A special display at the Yamaha Exhibition will feature an unprecedented review of great Jaguar racecars through the last 75 years.
An event not to be missed at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca includes the Jaguar Invitation Class E-Type Race on Saturday, August 20, from 1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m., where the winner will walk away with a specially designed trophy by Jaguar Cars Design Director, Ian Callum, to be awarded on Sunday, August 21. In addition, ride-and-drive opportunities of 12MY Jaguar vehicles are available on Friday and Saturday.
Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Thursday Night Kick-Off Party

For the third consecutive year, Jaguar is hosting the Thursday night Pebble Beach kick-off party to be held at the Beach and Tennis Club on August 18. This year’s celebration will be in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type. The Jaguar E-Type, known in North America as the XK-E, was introduced to the world at the 1961 Geneva auto show. The E-Type model’s affordability coupled with its top speed of 150 mph, made it an immediate sensation, with the first year’s production having been sold out within days. Jaguar’s XF, XK and XJ models will be on display alongside a spectacular collection of Jaguar E-Type cars.

Pebble Beach Concours dElegance, Concept Lawn

As part of Jaguar Cars advanced design and engineering initiatives, Jaguar Cars design team unveiled the stunning Jaguar C-X75 hybrid supercar last year at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It has since received numerous accolades including being named the most significant concept vehicle of 2011 by the North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards. Jaguar announced its plans to launch the remarkable C-X75 concept car as an exclusive hybrid supercar. C-X75 will be on display at the Pebble Concours Concept Lawn on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21.
This stunning range-extended electric supercar concept is capable of reaching 205 mph, sprinting from 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and has zero tailpipe emissions within the first 68 miles, while running solely on battery power.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type, there are four E-Type vehicles entered in various classes including the Postwar Preservation Class, Postwar Sports Closed Class, and Postwar Sports Open Class, among others. The winner will receive an award specially designed by Jaguar Design Director, Ian Callum.
