Kauai, HI—Ko`a Kea Hotel & Resort will open on April 14, 2009 after an extensive multi- million dollar reconstruction. Situated on Poipu Beach with unmatched proximity to the Pacific Ocean, Ko’a Kea will offer 121 newly designed guestrooms and suites, as well as a stunning new restaurant and luxury spa facility. The intimate and sophisticated atmosphere combined with unparalleled ocean views will offer guests a true boutique luxury experience while they enjoy all the exciting activities Kauai has to offer.
The property will feature contemporary décor by renowned designer Anita Brooks, whose other projects have included the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas and Red Rock Hotel and Casino. The design will accentuate the essence and landscape of Hawai`i, drawing inspiration and color from native flowers and sea life. Neutral tones will be accented by colors such as rich crimson, turquoise and coral which are found in the natural environment of Hawai`i.
Each of Ko`a Kea’s guestrooms and suites will feature fresh crisp colors inspired by the sea and sleek, subtle furniture, all meant to highlight the remarkable exterior views. The windows will be draped in sheer fabric, allowing the sun and sea breeze to become a part of the in-room experience.
The new restaurant, Red Salt, is named for the island’s uniquely colored salt and will feature contemporary upscale cuisine with emphasis on local flavors and ingredients. The Spa at Ko’a Kea will offer five treatment rooms including a room for couples massage as well as a comprehensive menu, geared to soothe the body after a day of activity.
