Seoul, Korea – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
For the fifth consecutive year, Korean Air has been rated as having the best business class to Asia by readers of Business Traveler magazine. The magazine’s readers also ranked Korean Air as the best airline in Asia for the fourth straight year. And for the third year in a row, the magazine’s readers rated Korean Air’s advertising campaign the best in the business.
“Winning the award for the fifth consecutive year is testimony to the effort Korean Air is placing in pursuit of excellence in flight,” said John Jackson, Korean Air’s director of sales and marketing for the Americas.
“Korean Air is now North America’s largest airline to Asia and we are committed to providing travelers the best in-flight entertainment, the most comfortable seats available and remarkably attentive service. As a result we are repeatedly recognized as one of the world’s best airlines”. Korean Air’s business class now offers new 180-degree lie-flat sleepers with a 74-inch seat pitch. The pitch is about 14 inches longer than previous seats, offering what Jackson says is “the comfort normally reserved for First Class on other carriers.” As for the global advertising, “The new campaign depicts the sensation of personalized and elegant experience each traveler will feel because of the airline’s focus on passengers’ individual needs,” says Connie Park, director of the Korean Air team at HSAd. “While it carries the same sensual, chic, and stylish look as the previous campaign, it adds a bit more spice to the brand.”
“We strive to differentiate ourselves from our competition through a visual, visceral perspective,” says Korean Air’s communications chief, Emily Cho. “Our creative direction was to elicit the feeling that we are an extraordinary airline for extraordinary people. We feel we are achieving that goal.” Jackson said Korean Air’s ad campaign “reflects the stellar, progressive and cutting edge nature of our services. We offer the best service in the air with routes into Asia that surpass all other airlines”. Korean Air’s service has been recognized worldwide repeatedly.
This year, Korean Air has been awarded Best Business Class Seat Design and Best Airport Staff/Gate Agent by Global Traveler magazine in its 7th annual GT Tested Awards. Also, it was ranked among the top three carriers by National Geographic Traveler China and named this year’s winner of the “Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier” by Pax International, the Canadian-based group that conducts the “Oscars for the travel catering industry”.
