Fractional jet ownership company Flexjet is taking the latest Learjet 85 aircraft on a six-city US tour.
Delivery of the new model will begin in 2014 but attendees of Flexjet’s showcase can have a private tour of the private jet.
The Learjet 85 is the first business aircraft with both fuselage and wings built primarily of carbon composite materials. This maximizes carbin volume, improves performance and minimizes drag.
Other innovations include the aircraft’s state-of-the-art Pratt & Whitney PW307B turbofan engine, Bombardier’s Vision Flight Deck cockpit and an advanced entertainment and wireless Internet system.
The aircraft’s US tour is in celebration of Learjet’s 50-year anniversary. The showcase also features other luxury brands such as Aston Martin and whiskey company Pernod Ricard.
The first event was in Menlo Park, California, and the last leg takes place in Houston on 15 October.
