New York, NY – Children of the world, a special porcelain sculpture created in partnership with Operation Smile, will be presented today, September 18, in the United States during the organization’s Annual Gala in Los Angeles. This beautiful porcelain creation has been conceived to homage the exceptional work of Operation Smile, which has already helped thousands of children from around the world born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities.
Since 2006, Lladró collaborates with this humanitarian organization thanks to different initiatives that have already made possible to raise $350,000 up to date. This collaboration, which started through Lladró in the US, was extended in 2007 to subsidiaries of the brand in other countries.
The piece Children of the world signifies a step further in the collaboration between both entities for one shared dream: to bring a smile to thousands of children across the globe. For that reason, five children representing the world are shown on this beautiful creation. The special design expresses the spirit that motivates the work of the non-profit organization. The matte white porcelain of the children contrasts with the glossy finish of the base, decorated with blue enamels. The result is a powerful and meaningful decorative sculpture.
Together with Santo Versace, President of Versace, the world-renowned fashion brand, and also President of Operation Smile in Italy, the piece has been presented to the Italian Privilege Gold members, a society of privileges for the best Lladró customers. The sculpture will be soon available at Lladró Boutiques.
