London, England – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
An Embraer Lineage 1000 jet touched down at London Oxford Airport this past week, becoming the largest aircraft to land in the airfield’s 73-year history. The aircraft flew in from the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, where it made an overnight stop while on delivery from Brazil. It will be based at Oxford Airport and managed by Hangar8 Plc, one of the UK’s largest charter and management companies, which recently floated on the stock market.
The ultra-large Lineage 1000 is the biggest executive jet from Embraer. It has a VIP fit configured for 19 passengers in five cabin zones, with features such as a private shower. It boasts a range of 4,400 nautical miles (8,149 kilometers) with eight passengers, or 4,500 nautical miles (8,334 kilometers) with four passengers. This means the jet is able to fly nonstop from London Oxford Airport to Dubai; from Dubai to Johannesburg (South Africa); from New York to Moscow; or from Singapore to Sydney (Australia).
London Oxford Airport Business Development Director, James Dillon-Godfray said: “The arrival of this ultra-large business jet today highlights just how far the airport has developed in recent years with consistent investment in our infrastructure and facilities. With the arrival of the Lineage, Oxford can clearly now compete with established London-centric airports as a viable alternative with distinct benefits in terms of convenience, access and costs.”
