London’s The Berkeley Opens Rooftop Winter Cinema

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

London, United Kingdom – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

Though it’s best known for drawing a crowd in warmer weather, The Berkeley’s Health Club & Spa has turned its rooftop terrace into a stunning outdoor cinema this winter.

Both hotel guests and London locals alike can enjoy classic films—including Miracle on 34th Street and Bridget Jones’ Diary—on the big screen, while curling up with Moncler down-filled blankets, hot water bottles and seasonal treats like homemade hot chocolate and Berkeley mince pies. Lined with pine trees and heat lamps for a cozy ambiance, the four-seat outdoor theatre is the only private cinema in the city.

Through January 31st, 2012, the hotel is offering a special Winter Cinema package for Londoners: For about $85 per person, visitors can take in either the 5pm or 7pm seating, weekdays only (and weather permitting). Weekend screenings are reserved for resident guests.
