Home to an array of impressive culinary delights, Los Cabos has been selected to host the annual American Academy of Hospitality Services International Star Diamond Awards Ceremony, scheduled to take place on April 24 at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar’s Pitahayas Restaurant. Each year, hotels around the world are selected to receive the American Academy of Hospitality Services’ highest honor based on their excellence in several areas related to hospitality and gastronomy.
This year, Pitahayas Restaurant and seven other Los Cabos restaurants are being recognized as part of the “Best 50 Hotels in Mexico” category. The restaurants include Edith’s Restaurant, The awards ceremony will include a dinner with the Executive Chefs of each restaurant preparing a different course.
The American Academy of Hospitality Services is an establishment of reviewers specializing in evaluating travel related industries and services including hotels, spas, restaurants, cruise lines and most of all chefs. Each year these reviewers select the top restaurants to receive the prestigious International Star Diamond Award. The Academy takes recommendations from patrons to refine a list of restaurants that are then visited anonymously and reviewed. Winners are selected following a rigorous multi-step process in the categories of hospitality, gastronomy, attitude, quality, cleanliness and most importantly, service.
