TELLURIDE, Colo. – The 2008-2009 ski season marks the beginning of a new era in luxury hotel accommodations in Telluride’s Mountain Village. lumière, a 30 key luxury boutique hotel with emphasis on the highest level of guest service, will hold its grand opening in December. Reservations are being accepted now for guest stays.
President and Principal of lumière, Matthew Nuss, says inspiration for the hotel was born from visits to some of the best travel destinations in the world.
“The locations were always memorable but often the accommodations and guest service experience were not,” says Nuss. “The high-end traveler is starved for an unique experience at the luxury level that is contemporary, yet comfortable; high energy, but relaxing and personalised without pretense. That’s what lumière is.”
The property’s 30 rooms offer guests everything from studio suites to three and four bedroom penthouses. Also available is a 7,500 square foot five bedroom home called “the tower at lumière.” Each unit is appointed with flat panel televisions featuring surround sound, gas fireplaces, Egyptian cotton sheets, L’Occitane natural bath and body products, oversized bath sheets and plush bath robes and slippers.
lumière’s location, at the base of the ski mountain in Telluride, lends itself to spectacular and differing views of its natural surroundings from nearly every window in the hotel. To respect the natural environment and help preserve the views that add to the hotel’s ambiance, lumière adheres to eco-friendly operation standards. Cleaning staff uses Eco-Lab’s “green” collection of cleaning products exclusivley and recycles all glass, cardboard, paper and hangers. Additionally, the property is equipped with low-flow water systems in toilets, faucets,irrigation and showers. lumière is also commited to using as little paper as possible, using alternative energy where possible and donating unused hotel items to local charities.
In addition to its eco-friendly standards and prime slopeside location in Telluride’s Mountain Village, lumière’s guest service is second to none in the ski resort hotel business.
