Mazatlán Invites Travelers to Celebrate Carnaval

Mazatlan will welcome over 300,000 revelers from around the world from March 3 to 8, during its annual Carnaval celebration. A full lineup of festivities will unfold amidst Mazatlan’s colorful culture culture and breathtaking Pacific Coast scenery. Local resorts have reported increased bookings with occupancy rates nearing 90 percent.

The tradition of Carnaval dates back 113 years and is currently recognized as the world’s third-largest Mardi Gras celebration (following Rio de Janeiro and New Orleans). The week’s events highlight Mazatlan’s rich history, sumptuous local cuisine and inviting spirit.
