Geneva, Switzerland- Reported by Elite Traveler Magazine, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Swiss watch company MB&F turned to the creatures of the South American rainforest for inspiration, designing their limited edition watch on the poison dart frog. The new HM3 Poison Dart Frog contains a similar disguise and the protruding eyes of its amphibian friend with the fine hand-finishing of a highly-tuned machine.
The frog’s camouflage and exotically patterned skin inspired the watch’s outward design. The HM3 Poison Dart Frog contains a high-tech zirconium case disguised by a sleek, black layer of PVD. The black case contrasts spectacularly with the 18K gold screws and animated 22K gold rotor-framed by an over-sized date wheel-on top of the Jean-Marc Wiederrecht designed piece.
The frog’s protruding eyes allow the amphibian to see in many directions without moving its head. Similarly, the watch’s bulbous hour and minute domes allow the wearer to read the time from a variety of angles without moving his or her wrist. Each dome is placed under a semi-spherical sapphire crystal and meticulous machined from solid aluminum.
HM3 Poison Dart Frog is a limited edition piece with only ten watches produced worldwide. The luxury watch can be found exclusively at The Hour Glass.
