Comala, Mexico – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine
Intimate luxury resort Hacienda de San Antonio is hosting a relaxing yoga retreat taking place from Saturday, July 28 to Saturday, August 4 2012. The retreat will include daily yoga classes, taught by expert Kundalini instructors Giancarlo Marcaccini and Jennifer Mellein.
A gourmand’s dream, the trip will offer “farm to table” organic food, all grown or made on property, with a plethora of vegetarian options. You can pick and “forage” for what you eat.
Built more than 120 years ago in the Mexican highlands, the property is on 500 acres situated within a coffee plantation of more than 5,000 acres. The private house, which hosts a bed-and-breakfast, sits against a dreamlike landscape of endless gardens, nurseries, avenues of bamboo and the awe-striking backdrop of the Colima volcano. It also includes a Baroque chapel, an oversized aquamarine swimming pool and a rooftop terrace.
Hacienda has 22 suites and three grand suites, situated in a patio of the resort. Each of the 22 suites has its own name and unique style. All suites are 540 to 640 square feet, with large bathrooms, vaulted brick ceilings, French-style doors and a fireplace. All of the ground floor suites open up to a volcanic stone terrace with a table and chairs. The suites on the second floor have step-out balconies with French-style doors that give you a spectacular view of the Hacienda’s surroundings. The Grand Suite Volcan, Grand Suite Quetzal and Grand Suite Sol all are 1,400 square feet with a bedroom, two large bathrooms, a living room, two fireplaces and a private terrace. Each has either a garden or volcano view, and all are decorated with beautiful Mexican tiles, tapestries and ceramics.
Additional activities at the Hacienda include hiking, horseback riding, tennis, bird watching, jogging and sightseeing in the nearby town of Colima.
Price for the week is $2,800 (shared room) and $4,300 (single room); this includes all meals, yoga classes and transportation. Hacienda will provide transfers to and from the airports of Manzanillo or Guadalajara and there is a landing strip for those who like to travel private.
