Mikimoto Produces Charity Pendant for Japan

New York, New York – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine –Mikimoto, Japan’s most storied luxury jewelry label, has unveiled a new charity pendant to aid earthquake and tsunami relief efforts across the country.

The limited edition piece evokes the Japanese flag with a single 7.5mm cultured Akoya pearl (the nation’s most iconic gem) alongside a red enamel disc set in sterling silver. The pendant will retail for $290, with all proceeds donated directly to the Japanese Red Cross. As of June 25th, it will be available at Mikimoto boutiques in New York, Beverly Hills, South Coast Plaza and Las Vegas, as well as the label’s e-store.

“As a company deeply rooted in Japan, Mikimoto bears a special responsibility to aid in the relief efforts. This pendant gives us an opportunity to keep attention on an important cause that will need our assistance for a long time,” said Mikimoto (America) Co., Ltd. president and CEO Mitsuhiro Mitsui of the launch. “We are proud to donate net proceeds from these necklaces to help those in need.”
