Million Air, one of the largest private aviation service companies in the world, announced today that it has acquired Signature Flight Support Corporation’s ex Hawker Beechcraft facility at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) in satisfaction of a Consent Decree between Signature and the United States Department of Justice requiring such divestiture by Signature as a condition to the approval of Signature’s acquisition of the seven Hawker Beechcraft Services FBO’s approximately one year ago. Signature continues operations at its historic FBO location at IND.
As of September 15th, Million Air will begin operating the Fixed Base Operation servicing general aviation aircraft at IND, assuming the fueling operations previously conducted by Signature and Hawker Beechcraft Services. Under this agreement, Million Air will also assume management and operational responsibility for a collective 57,000 sq.ft. of facility and hangar storage space. Further enhancements to the recently constructed FBO terminal are planned to incorporate Million Air’s standard first-class amenities with anticipated completion by Spring 2010.
Only the FBO operations and associated fueling and customer services will be transferred to Million Air through this acquisition. Hawker Beechcraft Inc. will continue to operate their maintenance and repair station.
