Elite travelers will have a new place when researching travel to the Caribbean, www.caribbeantravel.com.
Using state-of-the art responsive technology and compatible with desktops, tablets and mobile devices, the site will have content for all 32 member nations, from Anguilla to Venezuela. It will also have links to the national tourist boards of each country.
The site was created by Caribbean Tourism Development Company, which is jointly owned by the Caribbean Tourism Organization and Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association. Content will be provided by each destination and the private sector including hotels but also sightseeing, activities, restaurants and so forth. The goal, according to program consultant Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace is to make the site a one-stop place to go on the web.
The site is still building content with the goal of getting partners, such as bridal publications for weddings, epicurean publications for dining and so forth. Warm weather vacationers, Vanderpool-Wallace said are “destination collectors”, and the idea is to keep consumers collecting within the Caribbean.
