By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Perini Navi Group proudly announced the sale of the 131-foot fast-cruising cutter, C. 2180, with delivery slated for 2012. This is the company’s third new contract signed in 2009.

Designed by Perini Navi’s in-house naval architects in collaboration with Ron Holland, this project will boast high performance with her light weight aluminum hull and superstructure, with displacement optimized at 210 tons.

The yacht is rigged with a 164-foot carbon-fiber mast and carbon in-boom furling along with Perini Navi reel captive winches and control system. Shrouds are made in Nitronic 50 for those on the bow and verticals, Pbo rigging for the diagonals and backstay.

This new contract was signed in December 2009, further adding to Perini Navi’s production plan for 2010-2013 that presently includes 11 yachts: Eight sailing yachts with Perini Navi Brand and three Vitruvius motor yachts with the renewed Picchiotti brand.
