Paris – According to historians, Christian Dior set up his first couture salon on Avenue Montaigne simply to be near the Plaza Athenee and its international clientele. Now, the two luxury icons in the heart of Paris are together again with the opening of Dior Institut au Plaza Athénée (a part of the famed Dorchester Collection). The new partnership offers cutting-edge rituals in a spa-like setting, with treatments that awaken the senses, revitalize the body, and enhance the sensation of self.
The elegant 5,500-square-foot space features five treatment rooms designed by Patrick Ribes, whose previous work includes the Givenchy Spa des Neiges at the Cheval Blanc hotel in the French Alps.
One double “VIP” room, in particular, is designed for stylish comfort with updated silver and white versions of Dior’s medallion chairs, mirrors embellished with caning and a dark-tinted glass wall displaying Dior latest skincare products. A sauna and hammam steam bath beckons clients with separate spaces for women and men. And for those blissful moments apres-traitement, the Institut’s relaxation lounge serves a selection of soothing herbal teas.
Leading-edge treatments combine massage therapy, micro-abrasion and active anti-aging products. There are a range of distinctive therapies designed for women and men, adaptable to each client’s individual needs and time constraints.
Selected therapies include a quartet of “Active Life” treatments as well as several “multi-day” options developed specifically for the new facility.
The crème de la crème is the L’Or de Vie. This exceptional regenerating treatment is based on a miraculous concentrate created through an alliance between the Dior Innovation Center and the legendary Château d’Yquem vineyard. Rare ingredients derived from Yquem grapevines, whose antioxidant capacities are among the most powerful ever discovered, are combined with an original protocol to create a truly unique experience.
