Raffles Hotels and Resorts is expanding its presence in the Chinese market with the opening of the new Raffles Hainan resort.
Located on the most coveted stretch of HainanIsland, ClearwaterBay, Raffles’ second Chinese property is securing its place as the leading resort of the growing luxury tourism hot spot. The development, stretching across the southeastern coast of the island, boasts 229 rooms and 32 villas. Guest rooms start at 861 square feet, and each villa has its own private balcony with striking views of the ocean or the two adjacent championship golf courses, designed by US-based Schmidt-Curley Design.
Raffles Hainan offers guests who have had their fill of the bay’s nearly eight miles of coastline, yacht clubs, and luxury shopping, with a large Raffles spa, seven restaurants and bars, and several multifunctional meeting rooms including a beachfront pavilion.
“Raffles Hainan will be one of the most prestigious addresses on China’s popular holiday island as the first luxury opening on ClearwaterBay, the only resort with adjoining championship golf courses and with Sanya’s largest guestrooms, all with sea-view balconies.” said Herbert Laubichler-Pichler, general manager of Raffles Hainan. “With the addition of Raffles’ signature warm and graceful service embodied by the Raffles Butlers, we are setting a new luxury benchmark on the island.”
Providing luxury accommodations, while staying true to local Chinese culture, Raffles Hainan incorporates modern design with the artesian woodworks, vibrant fabrics, and art of the traditional hill tribes of the island. In fact, the luxury hotel boasts over 1,000 works of Chinese art, sourced by Willow Gallery in Hong Kong.
The resort is scheduled to open in September. In celebration of the addition of Raffles Hotels and Resorts’ tenth property, the luxury line is offering guests an exclusive grand opening package. Guests who book on or before Nov. 30 can expect to stay three nights for the price of two, with the addition of a complimentary upgrade to a Grand Ocean View Room, round-trip airport transfers, a welcome drink, buffet breakfast for two, and a late checkout until 6 p.m.
