By the end of 2012, luxury hotelier Regent will have opened its first new hotels in five years: The Regent Phuket Cape Panwa in Thailand, scheduled to open in September, and the Regent Bali in Indonesia, due to welcome its first guests in December.

The new Thai retreat will reside on Phuket’s quiet Cape Panwa, offering 70 suites and villas overlooking the Andaman Sea. Interiors are by Jaya Ibrahim (of The Setai, Miami and the Legian, Bali) and Blink Design Group. All villas and suites will be equipped with iPads, Liddell linens, Wi-Fi, complimentary mini-bars and four pieces of free laundry per day. Elite travelers will want to opt for the villas, which come complete with private pools and sun lounges.

The resort’s four bars and restaurants will include a Library Lounge with cigars and cognacs, as well as a team to arrange private poolside BBQs in-villa, served on Schott Zwiesel glassware and Mepra Levantina silver.

The 17,000-plus-square-foot Regent Spa will tout eight treatment rooms and a 200-foot infinity pool. Treatments to look forward to include a traditional Chinese Ontake Bamboo Massage, a children’s massage and the spa’s signature Dancing Fingers Massage, inspired by the Phuket Sea and featuring consistent pressure along the body’s core muscles and energy lines.

In Bali, the new all-suite Regent spans a four-acre estate in Sanur, a tony stretch on the island’s southeastern coast. All 95 suites will have 180-degree views of the Indian Ocean, as well as handcrafted furniture made from fossilized wood. The 25 villas will have private pools as well as a full kitchen, dining and living rooms, and either two or three bedrooms.

Guests will enjoy fabulous cuisine at four bars and restaurants, one serving Balinese and pan-Asian dishes using locally sourced produce. The resort’s beachfront grill will prepare regional seafood alongside an infinity pool located literally on the ocean. The on-site spa, boasting five single treatment rooms, two double rooms, private spa suites and a double Regent spa villa, offers guests the chance to truly unwind and recharge with sumptuous Balinese treatments.
