This season, Richard Mille enters the world of polo with the introduction of the first Richard Mille Polo Team. The team’s four players are Argentinean Pablo MacDonough, who ranked number one on the 2010 World Polo Tour; fellow Argentinean Alejandro Muzzio; Prince Bahar from Brunei; and the UK-born Max Routledge.
The team made its debut at Cowdray Park Polo Club and is now preparing for an intense season that includes some of the most prestigious international high-goal tournaments. In the UK, the Richard Mille Team will compete for The Harcourt Developments Queen’s Cup at Guards Polo Club from May 17th to June 12th, followed by the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup at Cowdray Park Polo Club June 21st to July 17th. In Spain, the team will vie for the Gold, Silver and Bronze cup at Santa Maria Polo Club in Sotogrande, July 27th to August 29th.
Polo is all about performance, endurance and concentration. Players test their physical limits during each match. This new venture allows Richard Mille further opportunities to challenge technical boundaries in watchmaking and test new solutions.
As with professional athletes Felipe Massa, Rafael Nadal and Bubba Watson, each player from the Richard Mille Polo Team will wear a Richard Mille timepiece while competing on the field. The watch especially designed for the players is an RM010 limited edition fea¬turing a unique “all black” DLC-treated case, red dial, and black rubber strap complete with DLC-treated buckle that pays homage to the team’s livery colors.
