St. Regis Deer Valley Appoints Shane Baird Chef de Cuisine at Famous J&G Grill

It is with full stomachs and satisfied palates that The St. Regis Deer Valley has announced the appointment of Shane M. Baird as Chef de Cuisine at the hotel’s J&G Grill. A member of the original 2009 opening team for J&G Grill, Baird’s comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage events and operations at the resort’s signature Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant, is sure to elevate the culinary experience to even greater heights.

Originally from Honolulu, Baird attended New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, Vermont and trained in Spain under Michelin-starred Chef Martin Berasategui and in France with Michelin-starred Chef Yann Plassard. Baird also studied at La Escuela Tandem Centro de Idiomas in San Sebastian, Spain, making him a true connoisseur of international food and dining. Baird came to J&G Grill with considerable experience in menu development and special events. His background includes work as Sous Chef with Joie de Vivre Hospitality in San Francisco, the second largest operator of boutique hotels in the U.S., and as the Executive Sous Chef with Butterfly Restaurant, a fine-dining establishment with four locations in Salt Lake City.

I am looking forward to expanding our offerings of locally-sourced ingredients,” said Baird in between fly fishing casts on the Provo River and carving corduroy at Deer Valley Resort.
