Swire Hotels is pleased to announce the opening of three new restaurants in the second half of this year: PUBLIC and Ground PUBLIC in Taikoo Place and The Continental in Pacific Place.
In July, Ground PUBLIC will begin serving coffees, drinks and takeaway items during office hours on G/F of One Island East in Taikoo Place. In September, its full-service counterpart PUBLIC will open on L37 of the same building, and will cater to workers in the neighbouring office buildings as well as residents of the area. PUBLIC will feature both served and self-serve areas and its wide-ranging menu, which will include Western and Asian dishes, will be updated on a regular basis.
The Continental opens in Pacific Place in October with interiors created by David Collins Studio, the team behind The Wolseley and The Delaunay in London and Scarpetta’s in Miami. The restaurant will occupy the free-standing building on L4 designed by Thomas Heatherwick, who was responsible for London’s New Routemaster bus and Olympic Cauldron, as well as the Pacific Place Contemporisation Project.
The Continental’s menu draws its inspiration from the grand cafés of Europe and will feature a variety of European classic dishes from breakfast through lunch and dinner to late night drinks and snacks.
The three standalone restaurants will be owned and managed by the newly-established Swire Hotels Concepts division and build on the successful launch in November of Plat du Jour, the French bistro in Hoi Wan Street in Taikoo Place.
The restaurants will follow Swire Hotels’ sustainable dining principles: in addition to sourcing food from sustainable sources, they will use quality local ingredients wherever possible.
