Taj Boston Debuts New Winter Menus

Taj Boston has introduced new menus filled with heart-warming winter favorites, including delectable prix fixe specials for lunch and dinner in The Café ,and new savory and sweet options for weekend afternoon tea in The Lounge.

Winter Dining in The Café

-This charming spot with expansive views of fashionable Newbury Street is a local favorite for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, and showcases culinary creations by Executive Chef Franck Steigerwald and regional Indian specialties by Chef Prabeen Prathapan -New prix menus for lunch and dinner offer a choice of two or three courses -Appetizer options include Soup Of The Day, Arugula and Blood Orange Salad with Pecans or Chickpea Sundal Salad, a beloved South Indian dish spiced with black mustard seeds and red chiles -For entrées, select from Braised Beef Cheeks with Mashed Potatoes and Gremolata, Seared Salmon with Sautéed Fennel, Basil and Tomato Bouillabaisse Sauce, or Murgh Methis Malai (chicken in fenugreek tomato cream sauce) with Basmati Rice -Desserts on offer are Raspberry Crème Brulée with Lemon Pound Cake and Raspberry Salad, French Pastry Medley or Ice Cream or Sorbet -In addition, The Café offers a number of breakfast and brunch dishes as well as a la carte starters, entrées and desserts for lunch and dinner daily; its popular Arlington Street Classics include Boston Clam Chowder, Lobster Salad, Chicken Pot Pie and Kobe Beef Burger

Winter Weekend Tea in The Lounge

-A gracious tradition at the hotel since 1927, Afternoon Tea is served on Saturday and Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. -To complement the refined atmosphere of The Lounge and the adjoining French Room, savory and sweet tea selections are served on fine china, accompanied by your choice of exclusive teas, herbal infusions, wine, cocktails or even inventive cocktail teas -Taj Royal features tea sandwiches, canapés, sweet pastries and petit fours with your choice of tea -The Duchess offers a selection of sweet pastries and petit fours with your choice of tea -A Traditional Cheese Tasting included a selection of hard and soft cheeses with baguette, crackers and fresh and dried fruits and serves two to three -Fine red and white wines are offered by the glass, as are Champagne cocktails -Four signature cocktail teas are also offered, such as the Hot Toddy, featuring black tea with Dewar’s, honey and lemon, or Blueberry Tea, that blends Grand Marnier and Amaretto with Earl Grey tea designed to be sipped from a teacup holding blueberries and rimmed with sugar;
