The Plaza New York invites young boys who have defended their lieges with bravery and honor to spend a night at the iconic hotel’s castle-esque Tower Suite, where families and their young knights-in-training will get to experience a magical evening of medieval make-believe.
The life-like feudal architecture of the Plaza’s Tower Suite, with its distinct circular bedroom and 23-foot exposed brick cathedral ceiling, gives the bedroom the authentic feeling of living in a real-life siege tower, with the only give-away being the views of Fifth Avenue below. The living room features the hotel’s very own coat of arms and is adorned with fascinating pieces of medieval art that further brings the fantasy to life.
Not only will The Plaza provide the ideal setting and amenities for their visiting knights, but also uphold the highest forms of royal treatment, as young guests will be given hotel-wide recognition that his lordship or her ladyship is present. Knights of the Plaza will adorn noble pins to mark their presence within the royal domain, indicating that the hotel is now under the hero’s guardianship.
In addition, the hotel’s Family Ambassador will be waiting on-hand to organize family-oriented itineraries, from private shopping tours of FAO Schwarz and custom guides of the city’s best playgrounds to a picnic lunch at Belvedere Castle in Central Park. Young guests will also receive an eight-inch metallic painted chocolate knight upon their arrival, medieval-themed DVDs and books and a closet full of knight dress-up costumes and props from FAO Schwarz.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome this new family component to The Plaza’s existing first-class offerings. Our Eloise program has been a smashing success and the addition of the Knights of The Plaza program will reaffirm our position as the top urban resort in New York City, especially for families,” says Cynthia Scherer, director of sales and marketing of The Plaza.
Families have the option to book an adjoining Edwardian Fifth Avenue Suite and Deluxe King Room to convert the Tower Suite into a three-bedroom accommodation, for a fun-filled imaginary holiday the whole family can be a part of.
