The iconic luxury hotel invites guests and locals to enjoy gourmet treats, cocktails, and the summer sun in its newly redesigned courtyard.
Designed by top landscape design firm, Terrain, The Rittenhouse’s lobby level-located The Courtyard features a variety of new plantings, which add to the hotel’s exquisite Philadelphian architecture—arched doorways and windows, faux balustrades, and classically detailed sculptures and planters. Six large River Birch and Honey Locust trees provide a cool shade for guests enjoying their afternoon tea. Additionally, beautiful bursts of color adorn the courtyard walls, thanks to the stunning floral arrangements in The Courtyard’s nine planters.
Be sure to savor The Courtyard’s signature specialties, including “Oyster Hour”, which offers $1 oysters and $5 sangria from 4 – 7 p.m. The Courtyard’s selection of summer cocktails, wines, and beers are the perfect addition to gourmet snacks like octopus with sunflower hummus and apricot, pork rillettes with pickled mustard seed and toast, zucchini chips with crab dip, salmon tartare with lemongrass and radishes, Thai garlic sausage with cucumber and peanut, fingerling potato with nori and bonito flake, as well as a selection of artisanal cheeses and house made preserves.
Cocktails and treats are available from 4 – 10 p.m. seven days a week. Cocktails can be enjoyed exclusively between 10 p.m. and midnight Sunday – Thursday, and until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
