The Taj Group Debuts ‘The Gateway Hotel’

Mumbai – Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, India’s largest hospitality group, has launched The Gateway Hotel, a pan-India network of upscale hotels and resorts designed to offer a crisp, contemporary and warm travel experience. This new brand will cater to the emerging needs of the contemporary traveler in all business districts and leisure locations across India.

“India is one of the world’s most dynamic and booming economies. The Taj Group intends to leverage this boom and reiterate its leadership position with strategic introductions such as The Gateway Hotel,” said Raymond Bickson, managing director of Indian Hotels Company Limited. “This will be an important growth vehicle for Taj Group and will launch with a portfolio of 26 hotels across India.”

The Gateway Hotel customer experience is divided into eight zones: enter, stay, hangout, meet, work, workout, unwind and explore. Core initiatives that will deliver the brand promise of flexibility, freedom, and fitness across these zones include:

-A 24/7 approach to all key hotel services
-Active foods, super foods and low Glycemic Index foods for health conscious guests
-Eat-in, a refreshed in-room dining menu
-Yoga mats in each room
-Wake up, buffet breakfast with a range of healthy and indulgent options
-Explore, packages that let the guests explore the destinations beyond the hotel

Sixteen existing Taj Hotels are migrating to The Gateway Hotel brand, and include hotels in Agra, Bangalore, Calicut, Chikmagalur, Coonoor, Jaipur, Madurai, Mangalore, Nasik, Sasan Gir, Surat, Vadodara, Varanasi, Vijayawada, and Vishakhapatnam. New hotels will be added in key metro cities, including Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Jullunder, Mysore, Navi Mumbai, Rajpur and Gondia.
