The Whiteface Lodge Offers Tequila/Cigars Father’s Day Package

In honor of Father’s Day, The Whiteface Lodge is pleased to announce a ‘Two-Night Tequila’ weekend package, June 18 – June 20, 2010. The creative, Mexican-themed package provides a series of activities and culinary options giving Dads an opportunity to enjoy premium tequilas, mescals and flavorful cigars.

The Lodge’s guests, as well as local Lake Placid friends and residents, are encouraged to enjoy the weekend package or they may choose to select and participate in individual sessions of their choosing at a per-person price (see below).

Upon arrival on Friday night, the Lodge’s Sommelier, Scott Waller and David Suro-Piñera, owner of Siembra Azul Tequila* and a highly respected tequila connoisseur, will greet guests while they enjoy Mexican-inspired hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Mr. Waller and Mr. Suro-Piñera will provide guests with a general overview of the weekend’s events. (*Siembra Azul is a top-tier, premium tequila and is made from 100% blue agave).

Guests who participate in the package are invited to enjoy both tequila- and mescal-tasting and educational sessions (10am-12:30pm ET / 3pm-5:30pm ET) on Saturday. Both sessions will be led by Mr. Suro-Piñera and staged on the outdoor terrace, which provides majestic views of the surrounding Adirondack Mountains. Mr. Suro-Piñera will present and discuss Soembra Azul and Mescal del Maguey, renowned as one of the finest representations of single village, handmade, organic Mescal.

Festivities continue on Saturday evening (6:30pm to 9:30pm) when Christopher Thomas, the Lodge’s Executive Chef, will present a four-course menu, paired with selections chosen by Mr. Waller and Mr. Suro-Piñera. Following the dinner, at 9:45pm, Mr. Waller will offer a “Cigar and Spirit” pairing introductory presentation on the terrace.
