London, England – Reported by Elite Traveler, the Private Jet Lifestyle Magazine
British entrepreneur Lord Sugar took delivery of Embraer’s newly-certificated transatlantic-capable Legacy 650 business jet this weekend. The aircraft (G-SUGA) piloted by Kevin McGrath, departed Embraer’s facilities in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil on Saturday, destined for its new home at London Stansted Airport.
The aircraft will be looked after and operated by award-winning VIP charter operator Titan Airways Executive, who will also be marketing the aircraft for third party charter use. The Legacy 650 will be maintained and supported at Inflite, which already looks after Lord Sugar’s previous Legacy 600.
“I am absolutely delighted to be accepting this brand new aircraft. It has a considerably longer range, it’s fast, it has a very generous hold, accessible from the cabin and is ideal for the 300 hours or so of business flying I do every year. I looked at several aircraft types, but this was the one that fully mirrored my needs. It’s as quiet as the Falcon 7X,” he said.
He added: “I have been working with Titan for many years. They have a great reputation and are ideal to offer this aircraft out widely to the business aviation fraternity through their promising new Executive brand.”
This Legacy 650 jet is configured with 13 comfortable leather seats, boasts an elegant and airy yet functional interior with three distinct cabin zones, stowable tables, a spacious galley and large washroom facilities. It also features Inmarsat’s SwiftBroadband system for high-speed Internet in-flight and a state of the art in-flight entertainment system. “
This is a very exciting time for Embraer to deliver our first Legacy 650 large executive jet to Lord Sugar, an Embraer customer for four years, and Titan Airways Executive,” said Colin Steven, Embraer Vice President, Marketing and Sales – Europe, Africa and Middle East – Executive Jets. “We’re very enthusiastic about taking this aircraft into service from early December, said Alastair Kiernan, Titan Airways Executive Commercial Director. “We will be able to offer clients non-stop, long range flights with a very high level of comfort.”
The aircraft provides a maximum range of 3,900 nm (longer than the Legacy 600) and an impressive cruise speed of 500 mph. Important nonstop city pairings include London (UK) to New York (US); Dubai (United Arab Emirates – UAE) to London or Singapore; São Paulo (Brazil) to Miami (US); and Singapore to Sydney (Australia). The Legacy 650 performs outstandingly in both hot and/or high destinations thanks to the High Altitude Landing and Takeoff (HALTO) capability for operations out of airports at elevations up to 13,800 feet (4,206 meters). This means it can fly into and out of London City Airport and Cannes-Mandelieu.
