Valentino’s New Charitable Initiative Supports the Children of Haiti

By Pardhasaradhi Gonuguntla

Milan — During fashion weeks in Milan and Paris, the House of Valentino is supporting a special initiative to benefit the children of Haiti.

In collaboration with the Francesca Rava – N.P.H Italia Onlus Foundation, which has contributed continuous charitable activity throughout Haiti, Valentino boutiques at Via Montenapoleone and Avenue Montaigne will each host an exclusive evening. The first took place on February 24th in Milan, while the Paris event is set for March 10th.

Valentino Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are deeply involved in the project and have personally taken part in both events to present the exclusive t-shirt they created to support the initiative. This significant item will be available in both boutiques throughout Milan and Paris fashion weeks. 100% of all proceeds from t-shirt sales will be donated to the Francesca Rava Foundation. During the Paris event, the Foundation will collaborate with N.P.H. France to support focused rehabilitation and medical-surgical programs. The organization works towards providing a physically and emotionally new life to all children affected by the horrific earthquake.

This special t-shirt will also be available on the Valentino website starting March 15th. Once again, all proceeds will be donated to sustain this charitable project. During Milan and Paris fashion weeks, the House of Valentino continues to actively support the same initiative by contributing part of the Montenapoleone and Montaigne boutiques’ store sales.

In collaboration with photographer Stefano Guindani, the book “HAITI Through the Eye of Stefano Guindani” will also be available in these boutiques. Published by Electa, this unique volume is the result of Guindani’s extensive and in-depth photo reporting. Dedicated to Haiti’s children and withholding images featuring voyages performed prior to the tragic earthquake, the book highlights the dramatic events linked to a country devastated by poverty and civil battles. All profits will be donated to Francesca Rava – N.P.H Italia Onlus Foundation.
