These bird-inspired timepieces will set watch collectors’ hearts aflutter.
1 Chanel’s Mademoiselle Prive line showcases the talent of top enameler Anita Porchet. Her graceful grand feu depiction of each unique bird motif dial was inspired by the Coromandel folding screens in Coco Chanel’s Paris apartment. Only ten of these watches were made and they come with “snowflake” pavé diamonds on the bezel to elegantly frame the distinctive dials (about $177,385).
3 A beautiful red hummingbird can’t be contained on Cartier’s Santos dial. Its champlevé enamel wings spread out onto the diamond-covered case, imparting a vibrant energy. Limited to 80 pieces, the white gold watch has an iridescent white alligator strap and self-winding Calibre 430MC mechanical movement (price available upon request).
5 The delicate grace of this Piaget Limelight Garden Party watch comes from its endearing bird design. Two 18K white gold birds, perched on leafy branches, rotate around the black dial set with 165 brilliant-cut diamonds, echoed with a ring of white diamonds on the bezel ($56,000).
