As the first hotel of the new Millennium, XV Beacon ushered in a new standard of stylish, contemporary luxury in Boston. Heralded since opening night on January 1, 2000, for its chic design and considerate amenities, XV Beacon&rsquos reputation for delivering an exceptional hotel experience has only caught fire through its first decade. Over the past year the award-winning boutique hotel has been refreshed in anticipation of its ten-year anniversary on January 1, 2010. With a new 10th Anniversary Package offering guests a choice of ten celebratory amenities, there will be no more enticing address for New Year’s Day and the year ahead than XV Beacon.
New General Manager Amy Finsilver, one of only a few female hotel managers in Boston, has upheld XV Beacon’s place as an ideal address for business and leisure travelers alike. Upon taking the reins this past year, she promptly reorganized and redesigned the hotel’s website, retrained every employee to exemplary service standards and oversaw the hotel’s enhancements.
Refreshed for the Celebration
In 2009, XV Beacon underwent a series of major “refreshers”, including redesigned guestrooms and public spaces as well as upgrades to several services, programs and amenities, including:
-Each of the 60 custom-designed guestrooms has been upgraded with new furniture, carpeting, linens, stereo systems, and 42” flat screen TVs
-New Lexus courtesy cars have been added to the hotel&rsquos fleet
-Upgrades to the exercise room and roof deck
-The hotel will soon launch its own signature brand bathroom amenities
-New green efforts including a recycling program, sheet/towel washing options and a lights out program
-The hotel’s new pet program donates 100% of the pet fee to the MSPCA.
Unquestionably one of Boston’s premier hotel properties, XV Beacon was an unexpected treasure when it first opened at the stroke of midnight, 2000. In a city long dominated by established hotel groups, no one knew what to make of the upstart independent boutique hotel housed in a turn-of-the-20th-century Beaux Arts building. When guests were able to see the artful and exquisite interiors by renowned designer Celeste Cooper, they soon realized there was no other hotel quite like XV Beacon.
XV Beacon’s reputation for delivering a truly exceptional hotel experience has only improved throughout its first decade, with awards and recognitions from the travel industry’s sharpest observers.
