Sofitel Legend People’s Grand Hotel Xian


The recently opened Sofitel Legend People’s Grand Hotel Xian is housed in a 71-roomand- suite heritage building that has been lovingly transformed into the first hotel in Greater China to join Sofitel’s exclusive ultra-luxe Legend collection.

It is the fifth Sofitel Legend property in the world. Features include an extensive garden setting, private health club, swimming pool and spa, authentic Italian restaurant, a rooftop Louis XIII bar, and private museum. French flair combines with Chinese traditional hospitality to create a new legend. The People’s Grand Hotel Xian has played a special role in the city’s history within 9.8 acres of landscaped gardens with 12,000 trees and 4,000 birds, a true oasis. Ideally located inside the Ming Dynasty city walls at the heart of the city, the hotel is only 15-minute walk to the Forest of Steles or to the colorful Muslim Quarter.

Key selling points: The renovation created a harmonious blend of the historic and modern elements of the hotel, and great care was taken to respect the rich heritage, most notable are the elements of fleur-de-lis moldings on the ceilings and the hotel facade. The suite incorporates familiar Sofitel features starting with the essential king-size Sofitel MyBed complete with 600-thread count finest cotton sheets and goose-down duvet. Natural fabrics, fine white Italian marble, luxurious carpet, and dark-wood accents create an understated ambiance that complements the beautifully proportioned classical architecture.
