Bali is booming with new luxury hotels and some existing favorites are getting makeovers. With a shelf of awards from Trip Advisor, World Travel Awards, World Luxury Awards and so on, The Samaya Seminyak already was well regarded.
With a clientele that ranges from famous footballers to the Prime Minister of Norway the resort catches quite a bit of attention. Last year the resort debuted 30 new villas with a modern minimalist ambiance. The previous aesthetic was Balinese. On offer are a series of one, two and three bedroom villas each with private pools. Bathrooms are oversize with walk-in showers and huge tubs.
Veteran General Manager Ray Clark says the high repeat factor is due to a team that “love what they do, so they don’t see it as a job.” He says, “We have fun, and our only goal is to make sure the guests have a great experience.”
Of course with a beach view of waves that draw professional surfers and both open and private spaces, Clark says his clientele includes elite travelers who are happy to be seen as well as those who want to stay out of the limelight.
New private jet facilities coming online will make getting there easier. Clark thinks those that end up at his doorstep will have a good enough time they will come back. Some repeat guests he notes come four or five times a year!
