A new brand was launched this year - Biver Watches - led by the legendary Jean-Claude Biver and his son Pierre. The first timepieces to be introduced had to be the pinnacle of watchmaking prowess: a 42mm carillon tourbillon. In addition to the titanium-caged tourbillon escapement, the first watches also house a complex three-hammer minute repeater that chimes the hour, quarter hour and minute on demand. The watches are made by the best Swiss suppliers to exacting Biver specifications for case, hands, dials, bracelets and more. The automatic caliber, JCB-001, created with Le Cercle des Horlogers, is wound by a meticulously decorated micro-rotor and consists of 374 individual components. This version is titanium with a wafer-thin slab of sodalite for the dial.
