Sunny Arizona is beckoning car enthusiasts to the 46th annual Scottsdale Auction, taking place from January 14-22, 2017. Sprawled over 74 acres at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Barrett-Jackson is attended by more than 350,000 people per year. From prewar classics to American muscle to celebrity-owned vehicles, bidders will have their pick of collector cars.
This year’s lots include Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler’s personal 2012 Hennessey Venom GT Spyder, one of only 12 in existence, selling for charity. Also up for auction is the 1960 Chevrolet Engineering Research Vehicle (CERV) 1 used by Zora Arkus-Duntov in his development of the Corvette in the 1960s. Additionally, the event will welcome the Charlie Thomas Collection, comprising more than 140 vehicles such as a 1970 Plymouth Superbird featuring the original V-code 440/390hp Six Pack V8, all at no reserve.
Car collectors and polo fans will get the best of both worlds when Barrett-Jackson hosts the Townsend Cup on Saturday, January 14. Additional arena polo matches including the Sherman Cup and International Intercollegiate Challenge Cup will take place through Sunday, January 15 at the Equidome.
“Our Scottsdale Auction is the best event to get the full effect of what we call the ‘Barrett-Jackson Experience,’” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “From the excitement of seeing first-time buyers bid on a vehicle, to the thunderous applause that comes from a million-dollar bid for charity, Scottsdale is the premier auction where you can truly indulge in the automotive lifestyle.”
The Scottsdale Auction will be held at WestWorld of Scottsdale, 16601 North Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85260. VIP Experience Packages range from Silver VIP priced at $1,299 to the Craig Jackson Box priced at $7,499. For more information, please visit barret-jackson.com.
