Home to one of the world’s most celebrated fashion scenes and a host of iconic ateliers, Paris is associated worldwide with its cutting edge couture. Here, it’s the city’s abundance of outstanding boutiques that draws style hunters in, and now the five-star hotel Mandarin Oriental Paris is giving guests the chance to delve further into this scene with the hotel’s new So Couture by Ecole Lesage Experience.
Based on more than a century and a half of prominence in Paris, Ecole Lesage embroidery school has established a reputation for being the place embroiderers of great ateliers go to truly master their craft. Normally an experience reserved for those in the industry, the school is now inviting guests of Mandarin Oriental to sign up for the So Couture experience, giving them the exclusive opportunity to try their hand at the embroidery techniques Maison Lesage use. In this two-hour private lesson, each guest can help to craft their own personalized bracelet, and this is what they take home with them at the end.
Available to guests who are staying for a minimum of two nights, the So Couture by Ecole Lesage package also includes breakfast in the hotel’s
Camelia restaurant. This all-day dining venue, which overlooks the hotel’s garden, places the focus on chef Thierry Marx’s traditional French cuisine, with Japanese additions to the menu during breakfast hours.
In its location on rue Saint-Honoré, Mandarin Oriental Paris is just moments away from Place Vendôme in the city’s prestigious 1st arrondissement, too, placing guests well for exploration of the area and Paris’s high-end boutiques. And during any stay at this luxurious hotel, it’s worth spending a little time soaking up the ambiance of the spa, which sprawled across 900 square meters of space, encompasses a wealth of lavish wellness facilities.
The So Couture by Ecole Lesage package is priced from $1,550 per night, based on a minimum stay of two nights. Find out more by going over to mandarinoriental.com/paris.
