The Hyde Bar at the Royal Park Hotel is a unique haunt located just a short walk from Hyde Park and just a stone’s throw away from Kensington Palace and the Royal Albert Hall.
With gorgeous views of Westbourne Terrace, once hailed the ‘finest street in London’, diners are assured an intimate and private member’s club feel, away from the hustle and bustle of the capital.
The luxury restaurant is set amidst mid-19th century Grade II listed townhouses with all the grace and charm of its original Victorian architecture, which originated in 1842.
Low lighting, plush sofas and a cozy fireplace immediately set a tranquil ambiance. Upon entering guests are instantly whisked in time by the 19th century British interiors of the bar and dining area. Its endless character is further met by its original period features and artwork, making a fantastic hang out for business and pleasure.
With its launch just six months ago, the restaurant has refined and perfected a delicate menu of food and drinks. The resident chef, Matt Mckiernan has worked in a multitude of award winning restaurants and illustrates his passion for relaxed dining with his delicious selection of small plates paired with the finest and rarest drinks menu available in London.
Guests can choose a selection of delightful small plates showcasing a tantalizing array of textures and flavors. Favorites include Pan-Fried Quail with Bacon Crisp, Raspberry and Quail Egg; Scallops and Boudin Noir with Sweet Corn Puree and Crispy Sage and the Balsamic Glazed Heritage Beetroot with Goat’s Cheese Arancini.
Pair with an exquisite side of Goose Fat Triple Cooked Chips and the especially delicious Shaved Asparagus and Mint Salad. To finish off the palate, try the Trio of Pavlova topped with Raspberry, Mango and Kiwi and their comforting plate of Sweet Potato Fritters.
The drinks list will never cease to amaze with an impressive selection from around the world including some of the finest whiskies and cognacs available. Favorites include 1940s vintage, Strathisla and the golden Tesseron Extreme of which only seven bottles are available in the UK.
This spot is the perfect retreat for a quick cocktail or an evening spent feasting with friends. The Hyde is open daily from midday to midnight and late on Fridays and Saturdays.
