Could it be? Did designers decide to truly give women who work something to wear to the office, as well as a chic evening alternative to a dress? Yes! For pre-fall, many prim and fashionable looks walked the runway, but our favorite is the slim suit. All-red power suits were seen in every city, and Givenchy had the perfect one, styled with lots of costume jewelry. At Hermès, a muted green suit has a high waist and classic cut, worn with platform shoes for a bit of an edge. For evening, Versace’s tuxedo has cropped trousers and beautiful shoulder embroidery on the jacket. In a creative office—or just at night if your office is too buttoned-up —Roberto Cavalli’s fabulous silk jacquard suit and blouse is just the ticket.
